About Me

Hi there, my name is Rizza Casabuena (Harrison) and I am a certified Mathematics educator in Arizona. I have been teaching for over 15 years and have education experience in both elementary and high school.

I know most students don't believe I have a life outside of the school, but I do. I have been married to my husband Tom since 2018, and we have an adorable son, Tanner, who was born that same year. Although I was born and raised in the Philippines, I have been living and teaching in AZ since 2014. I attended the University of the Philippines and received my Bachelor's degree in Education - Major In Mathematics in 2007.

When it comes to teaching, I believe it is about developing strong relationships that tap into students' passions and provide relevancy to students and allows them to make connections with the curriculum. I champion what is best for students in all decisions and I model lifelong learning in my personal and professional life.

On my spare time, you would either see me reading some books (currently on growth mindset), playing Harry Potter game on my Switch, or teaching my toddler son some Calculus (just kidding!).
